One rule governs every choice on this page: the method used to deposit is normally the method the payout comes back through. That makes the deposit decision a payout decision taken in advance, and it is the single thing most method comparisons leave out. Full context sits in the Royal Vegas Casino review; the payout side is covered in detail in withdrawal times.

On "deposit from C$1"

Offers advertising C$1 entry to this brand come from partner promotions, not from the operator. The operator's own minimum is C$10 on every method. Anyone arriving expecting a C$1 deposit at the cashier will not find one there.

Funding an account for the first time

  1. Open the Bank section

Reached from the top of the lobby once signed in. Deposit and Withdraw sit as separate tabs within it.

  2. Pick a method

Only methods valid for the account's registered currency and country appear. If an expected option is missing, currency is usually the reason.

  3. Enter an amount

C$10 or more. Prepaid vouchers cap out around C$250 per transaction.

  4. Decide on the bonus

The offer is accepted or declined at this screen — this is the decision point, not a formality. It cannot be applied retroactively once the deposit lands.

  5. Authorise the payment

Funds appear within seconds on every instant method. A card deposit that shows as pending on the bank statement but not in the casino balance is covered further down.

Taking the bonus, or not

Accepting the match doubles the playable balance and simultaneously locks the whole balance behind a 70x wagering requirement with a seven-day deadline. Declining leaves the deposit withdrawable at any moment. Neither is the right answer universally, but one test settles it quickly: anyone intending to play blackjack, roulette or live tables should decline, because those games contribute 8% towards wagering and Classic Blackjack as little as 2%. The arithmetic is worked through in the bonus terms breakdown.

Interac e-Transfer, and why Canadians default to it

Interac is not recommended here because it is familiar. It is recommended because it removes a currency conversion and cuts the payout wait roughly in half against cards.

Published payout figures for Interac vary between sources — one records up to 24 hours, others one to three days. The spread comes from whether the quoted number covers internal processing only or the full journey to the bank. Either way, identity verification must be complete before the first Interac payout is released.

Cards, wallets and vouchers compared

Credit and debit cards

The broadest option and the slowest on the way out. The complication rarely discussed is the issuer: a number of Canadian banks decline transactions carrying gambling merchant codes as a matter of policy, and the decline arrives from the bank rather than the casino. A card that works one week and fails the next has usually met a policy change, not a technical fault. Credit card cash-advance treatment can also apply, adding interest from day one.

E-wallets

The fastest route out, typically one to two days after the pending window closes. Two caveats: some operators exclude wallet deposits from bonus eligibility, so the terms are worth reading before funding a first deposit intended to trigger the welcome match, and the wallet has to be registered in the account holder's own name for the payout to clear.

Prepaid vouchers

Useful for capping spending, since the voucher is the ceiling. They cannot receive a payout. Anyone funding exclusively with Paysafecard, Neosurf or Flexepin will have to nominate an alternative method before a first withdrawal, and that alternative will itself need verifying — a step better completed early than discovered at the cashier.

When a deposit does not reach the balance

CauseHow it presentsWhat to do
Issuer declined a gaming transactionNothing debited; casino shows a failed attemptContact the bank; use Interac or a wallet instead
Bank authorisation still pendingDebited on the statement, absent from the balanceAllow the stated processing window before escalating
Session dropped mid-paymentDebited, no confirmation screenDo not retry. Capture the transaction reference first
Voucher already redeemedCode rejectedVouchers are single-use; a partially spent code will not load
Method not held in the account holder's nameDeposit reversed after reviewFund only from an account in the same name
Account restricted pending verificationDeposit blocked with a generic errorComplete verification; see the document list
  1. Capture the transaction reference

From the bank statement or wallet history. Nothing can be traced without it.

  2. Wait out the stated window

Escalating inside it produces the same answer support would give anyway.

  3. Open live chat with the reference to hand

Available 24/7 through the Help Centre; a Canadian line is published on 1-866-745-2416.

  4. Escalate in writing if unresolved

A written complaint to the operator creates a record. Beyond that, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission accepts player complaints against its licensees, and the AGCO handles Ontario accounts.

Chargebacks are a last resort

Reversing a casino deposit through the bank almost always results in the account being closed and any balance forfeited, and it can flag the payment method across the operator's whole brand group. Exhaust the support and regulator routes first.

Setting a deposit limit before playing

The deposit limit is the most useful control on this platform and the least used. It caps what can be funded in a day, week or month, and it is set from the responsible gambling section of the account menu rather than the cashier.

The asymmetry in how limits change is deliberate: lowering one applies immediately, raising one is held for a delay period. That is the safeguard functioning as intended. The same menu offers stake limits, session time-outs, a profit and loss totaliser and self-exclusion. Setting a limit before the first deposit takes under a minute and removes a decision that is harder to make later.

Deposit questions

What is the minimum deposit at Royal Vegas?

C$10 on every listed method, according to the operator's own promotional terms. One third-party review records C$5 on selected methods; the operator's published figure is the one to plan around.

Does Royal Vegas charge deposit fees?

No. The operator applies no fee to deposits on any method. A card issuer may still treat the transaction as a cash advance and charge its own fee and interest.

Does Royal Vegas accept Interac e-Transfer?

Yes, and it is the strongest option for Canadian players: instant in, one to three days out after the pending window, no currency conversion, and far fewer declines than cards. It requires a Canadian bank account and a CAD account balance.

Why was a Royal Vegas deposit declined?

Most often the card issuer blocked a gambling merchant code, which is a bank decision rather than a casino one. Other causes are an already-redeemed voucher, a method not held in the account holder's name, or an account restricted pending verification.

Can a prepaid card be used?

Yes for deposits — Paysafecard, Neosurf and Flexepin all fund an account, with Flexepin capped at around C$250 per voucher. None of them can receive a payout, so an alternative method has to be nominated and verified before the first withdrawal.

Is a bonus compulsory when depositing?

No. The bonus is accepted or declined at the deposit screen. Declining keeps the deposit withdrawable at any time; accepting attaches a 70x wagering requirement to the balance for seven days.

Play responsibly

Gambling carries a real risk of financial loss. Minimum age is 19 in most Canadian provinces and territories, 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Set a deposit limit before funding an account — reductions apply immediately. Free, confidential support: ConnexOntario in Ontario, ProblemGambling.ca and provincial helplines elsewhere.

Marc Delaney runs the Canadian casino desk behind this site. His job is narrow and stubborn: take the claims operators and other review sites make about a brand, check each one against a primary source, and publish the ones that do not survive the check.

That method came out of a simple observation. Six reviews of the same casino will name six different regulators, four different game counts and three different wagering requirements, and none of them will say where the figure came from. The desk's rule is that every number carries the source it was read from and the date it was read, including the numbers that make an operator look worse.

He does not write recommendations for brands the desk has not opened an account with, does not publish a rating without a scoring breakdown behind it, and does not run countdown timers or scarcity prompts on gambling pages. If a term is unfavourable, it goes above the fold rather than in a footnote.
